Stainless steel
304 / 1.4301 stainless steel
304 is an austenitic stainless steel with Werkstoffnummer 1.4301. The EN designation is X5CrNi18-10. It is the volume grade in stainless bar, plate and tube. 304L / 1.4307 when carbon has to come down. 316L when molybdenum has to be included. INDUSTRISTÅL supplies from European mills, saws or cuts to size and ships with 3.1. Typically solution annealed.

1.4301 / X5CrNi18-10. Without Mo. 304L (1.4307) has lower carbon for welding.
Machinability and weldability
Austenite is welded. 304L when intergranular corrosion is a concern.
Sawing and machining
Sawing of bar, cutting of plate to size. Tube to dimension.
Certificates and documentation
EN 10204 3.1 as standard.
