Grades

S355J2 is the volume grade. P265GH, P355GH and P355NH when the plate goes into PED equipment. S690QL when the structure has to be lighter. 1.8714 and X120Mn12 when it is wear, not statics.

Cutting to drawing – plasma, laser and oxy-fuel

We plan the cutting at European partners, so you receive parts cut to size – not a whole format plate you have to process yourself. Contours, cut-outs and holes are cut to DXF/drawing, and weld preparation (bevels) can be included.

Rectangular sawing of plate – avoid heat-affected zones (HAZ)

A very popular solution at INDUSTRISTÅL is cold sawing of steel plate to rectangular sizes on a band saw with coolant. Unlike thermal cutting (flame, plasma and laser), sawing adds no heat to the cut edge. You avoid heat-affected zones (HAZ), carburisation, edge hardening and thermal distortion – so the plate can go straight into the milling machine or machining centre without unnecessary tool wear.

• Minimal internal stresses and high flatness – ideal before CNC milling
• Particularly suitable for heavy plate, quenched and tempered grades, tool steel and machine components

Stainless plate and martensitic knife steel

The plate programme is not only structural. Stainless plate is cut the same way, and so are the martensitic knife and blade grades 1.4116, 1.4110, 440A and 1.4024, traded cold-rolled in finishes to DIN EN ISO 9445.
