Heat treatment to an agreed value
A grade without a condition is half specified. We have bar or part treated to +QT, a hardness or a strength class and make sure the certificate shows the treated condition – not just the heat.
What we typically agree
42CrMo4 and 34CrNiMo6 to an HRC or Rm. Normalising of structural steel. Case hardening of 16MnCr5 at a partner. We do not promise a value the steel cannot hold in that diameter.
The certificate shows the treated condition
When heat treatment is ordered together with the steel, the documentation follows the treated condition: the 3.1 shows mechanical values after treatment, not only the heat analysis. State the required condition (+QT, +N), hardness or strength class on the enquiry so it is agreed before the material is secured.
