X120Mn12 / 1.3401 manganese steel
X120Mn12 is an austenitic manganese steel (Hadfield steel) with Werkstoffnummer 1.3401. Supplied soft, it becomes hard at the surface after impact and pressure. It is not 400 HB wear plate from the mill. INDUSTRISTÅL supplies plate, cuts to size and ships with 3.1. 1.8714 when the hardness has to be there through the full thickness from the start.

Machinability and weldability
Welding requires a procedure. It is not S355 workshop welding.
Sawing and machining
Cutting to size. Avoid unnecessary heating, which destroys the work hardening.
