Bar steel for production
Bar steel is the core of the programme. 42CrMo4 is held in partner stock and the delivery programme. Other grades are sourced through the delivery programme at European partners. We cut to your size and ship with a certificate. This page brings the forms together – round, flat and square – so you can move on to the right grade.
What the programme covers
Structural steel, quenched and tempered steel, case-hardening steel, nitriding steel and stainless in bar. Tool steel has its own programme because the requirements for delivery condition and grinding are different.
- Round bar typically Ø10–1200 mm depending on grade
- Flat and square bar for parts that are milled rather than turned
- Sawing, boring and heat treatment as semi-finished work
How to choose
Start with the form – round bar or flat bar – or go directly to the grade the drawing specifies. On 42CrMo4 round bar you will find dimension, condition and delivery.
Order the quantity you need
Bar steel is traditionally traded in full lengths, but you should not buy more than the job requires. We cut the bar to size and supply from single cut pieces to larger lots – without minimum charge. Material documentation follows the same route: on relevant grades even a small delivery can be shipped with a material certificate to EN 10204.
