Tool steel for moulds and cutting edges
Tool steel is bought on W.Nr. and condition, not on a trade name alone. Mould steel, cold-work, hot-work, HSS and PM each have their own grinding, hardening and lead time. Blocks are sourced through the delivery programme at European suppliers.
What we supply most often
1.2312 for moulds that need to be milled quickly. 1.2343/1.2344 for hot work. 1.2379 for dies. 1.2083 for aggressive plastics. 1.3343 when the cutting edge must keep its red hardness.
Bought on W.Nr. and condition
Trade names such as Stavax, Sverker, Orvar and Holdax are translated to the W.Nr. the mill can carry on the certificate. State W.Nr., delivery condition (pre-hardened or soft annealed) and the sizes of the block, and we quote from the European delivery programme.
