31CrMoV9 is nitriding steel to EN 10085. Vanadium and chromium give a hard nitrided layer without carburising. Typically +QT before nitriding.

What it is used for
Wear- and fatigue-loaded shafts, bushings and guide parts.
Limits
34CrAlNi7-10 when aluminium is required in the nitrided layer. Not a case-hardening steel.
Delivery
We source 31CrMoV9 from European mill partners as round bar, flat bar, square bar, cut to your dimensions and ship the certificate with the material. Typical condition: +QT, ready for nitriding. From a single cut piece to larger lots — with no minimum charge, so you do not have to buy a full commercial length to get what you need.
Certificates and documentation
31CrMoV9 can be supplied with a material certificate to EN 10204, depending on producer, dimension and the requirements specified for the delivery. The condition is what the certificate has to carry on 31CrMoV9: as-rolled, +N and +QT are not the same product, and if a hardness or strength is to be documented in the delivered dimension, the requirement belongs on the enquiry. EN 10204 3.1 can be supplied on a wide range of our materials.
