What it is used for
Machine parts where the drawing still says 37MnSi5 rather than 42CrMo4.
Limits
42CrMo4 is the usual modern switch when hardenability must be documented in EN 10083-3.
Delivery
We source 37MnSi5 from European mill partners as round bar, flat bar, square bar, cut to your dimensions and ship the certificate with the material. Typical condition: +QT. From a single cut piece to larger lots — with no minimum charge, so you do not have to buy a full commercial length to get what you need.
Certificates and documentation
37MnSi5 can be supplied with a material certificate to EN 10204, depending on producer, dimension and the requirements specified for the delivery. The condition is what the certificate has to carry on 37MnSi5: as-rolled, +N and +QT are not the same product, and if a hardness or strength is to be documented in the delivered dimension, the requirement belongs on the enquiry. EN 10204 3.1 can be supplied on a wide range of our materials.
