S355NL / 1.0546 non-alloy structural steel
S355NL is normalised structural steel with documented impact toughness at −50 °C. N is the condition, L is low temperature. Same 355 MPa class as S355J2 — stricter certificate on toughness.

What it is used for
Outdoor and offshore-related structures where J2 is not enough.
Limits
S355J2 when −20 °C is sufficient. Do not mix it with quenched and tempered steel on the same specification.
Delivery
We source S355NL from European mill partners as plate, flat bar, round bar, cut to your dimensions and ship the certificate with the material. Typical condition: +AR or +N. From a single cut piece to larger lots — with no minimum charge, so you do not have to buy a full commercial length to get what you need.
Certificates and documentation
S355NL can be supplied with a material certificate to EN 10204, depending on producer, dimension and the requirements specified for the delivery. On welded structures it is the analysis, the strength class and — where the standard requires it — the impact toughness that the certificate must show. EN 10204 3.1 can be supplied on a wide range of our materials, and 3.2 is ordered when the project requires third party.
