Weldable structural steel
E295 / 1.0050 non-alloy structural steel
E295 is older engineering steel (St50-2) with higher strength than S235, but without the welding certification S355J2 provides. It is a machining steel more than a welding steel.

What it is used for
Simple machine parts that are turned or milled, and where the drawing still says E295 or St50.
Limits
For welding: S355J2. For hardening: C45 or 42CrMo4.
Delivery
We source E295 from European mill partners as plate, flat bar, round bar, cut to your dimensions and ship the certificate with the material. Typical condition: +AR or +N. From a single cut piece to larger lots — with no minimum charge, so you do not have to buy a full commercial length to get what you need.
Certificates and documentation
E295 can be supplied with a material certificate to EN 10204, depending on producer, dimension and the requirements specified for the delivery. On welded structures it is the analysis, the strength class and — where the standard requires it — the impact toughness that the certificate must show. EN 10204 3.1 can be supplied on a wide range of our materials, and 3.2 is ordered when the project requires third party.
Dimension programme
| Form | Range | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Round bar | Ø40–250 mm | Hot-rolled bar, cut to length. |
| Flat bar | Cut to order | Flat bar. |
| Plate | 5–120 mm thickness | Structural plate. No page per thickness. |
The range is a delivery programme, not a stock statement. Length is cut to your drawing.
