What it is used for
Hull plate and marine parts where the classification society specifies Grade A.
Limits
AH36 or EH36 when the 355 class of the shipbuilding standard is required. S355J2 when it is an onshore structure.
Delivery
We source Grade A from European mill partners as plate, flat bar, round bar, cut to your dimensions and ship the certificate with the material. Typical condition: +AR or +N. From a single cut piece to larger lots — with no minimum charge, so you do not have to buy a full commercial length to get what you need.
Certificates and documentation
Grade A can be supplied with a material certificate to EN 10204, depending on producer, dimension and the requirements specified for the delivery. On welded structures it is the analysis, the strength class and — where the standard requires it — the impact toughness that the certificate must show. EN 10204 3.1 can be supplied on a wide range of our materials, and 3.2 is ordered when the project requires third party.
