Weldable structural steel
S235 / 1.0038 non-alloy structural steel
S235 is the common weldable structural steel with a nominal yield strength of 235 MPa. The JR variant documents impact toughness at +20 °C. It is material for welded structures — not a steel you harden.

What it is used for
Beams, plate, brackets and simple welded parts where S355 is unnecessary strength.
Limits
Switch to S355J2 when the drawing calls for 355 MPa or impact toughness at −20 °C.
Delivery
We source S235 from European mill partners as plate, flat bar, round bar, cut to your dimensions and ship the certificate with the material. Typical condition: +AR or +N. Standard: S235JR. From a single cut piece to larger lots — with no minimum charge, so you do not have to buy a full commercial length to get what you need.
Certificates and documentation
S235 can be supplied with a material certificate to EN 10204, depending on producer, dimension and the requirements specified for the delivery. On welded structures it is the analysis, the strength class and — where the standard requires it — the impact toughness that the certificate must show. EN 10204 3.1 can be supplied on a wide range of our materials, and 3.2 is ordered when the project requires third party.
