S890QL is water-quenched structural steel with a nominal yield of 890 MPa to EN 10025-6. W.Nr. 1.8983. Sits between S690QL and S960QL. In Uniconta it may appear as S8960QL — it is the same number.

What it is used for
Cranes, booms and slender structures where 690 MPa still gives too thick a plate and 960 is more than the job requires.
Limits
S690QL downwards. S960QL when the yield strength has to go further up. It is not quenched and tempered steel for shafts.
Delivery
We source S890QL from European mill partners as plate, flat bar, round bar, seamless tube, welded tube, cut to your dimensions and ship the certificate with the material. Typical condition: +AR or +N. From a single cut piece to larger lots — with no minimum charge, so you do not have to buy a full commercial length to get what you need.
Certificates and documentation
S890QL can be supplied with a material certificate to EN 10204, depending on producer, dimension and the requirements specified for the delivery. On welded structures it is the analysis, the strength class and — where the standard requires it — the impact toughness that the certificate must show. EN 10204 3.1 can be supplied on a wide range of our materials, and 3.2 is ordered when the project requires third party.
