S960QL / 1.8933 non-alloy structural steel
S960QL is water-quenched structural steel in the 960 MPa class. Even slimmer sections than S690 — and an even tighter welding and cold-forming procedure.

What it is used for
Very slender crane and machine structures where 690 MPa still gives too thick a plate.
Limits
S690QL is the usual step down. It is not a QT shaft steel.
Delivery
We source S960QL from European mill partners as plate, flat bar, round bar, cut to your dimensions and ship the certificate with the material. Typical condition: +AR or +N. From a single cut piece to larger lots — with no minimum charge, so you do not have to buy a full commercial length to get what you need.
Certificates and documentation
S960QL can be supplied with a material certificate to EN 10204, depending on producer, dimension and the requirements specified for the delivery. On welded structures it is the analysis, the strength class and — where the standard requires it — the impact toughness that the certificate must show. EN 10204 3.1 can be supplied on a wide range of our materials, and 3.2 is ordered when the project requires third party.
