X8CrNiNb16-13 / 1.4961 is a heat-resistant stainless steel. W.Nr. 1.4961. It holds its oxide scale in dry heat — it is not a 316L for wet chlorides. Typically supplied as seamless tube, welded tube, round bar.

What it is used for
Furnace parts, flue gas and dry heat, where X8CrNiNb16-13 has to hold its scale.
Limits
Dry heat. Not a first choice in wet chlorides — that is 316L or duplex.

We source X8CrNiNb16-13 from European mill partners as seamless tube, welded tube, round bar, cut to your dimensions and ship the certificate with the material. Typical condition: solution annealed. From a single cut piece to larger lots — with no minimum charge, so you do not have to buy a full commercial length to get what you need.
Certificates and documentation
X8CrNiNb16-13 can be supplied with a material certificate to EN 10204, depending on producer, dimension and the requirements specified for the delivery. On stainless, the analysis and the delivery condition are what the certificate shows. If a specific test or an ageing/hardening condition is to be documented, it must be specified before we order. EN 10204 3.1 can be supplied on a wide range of our materials.
