What it is used for

Knives, cutting edges, instruments and wear parts that need to be hardened and still be stainless.

Limits

1.4117 when the part has to flex more than it wears. 440C when hardness has to be at the top.

Delivery

We source 1.4116 from European mill partners as round bar, flat bar, plate, cut to your dimensions and ship the certificate with the material. Typical condition: annealed or hardened. Standard: X50CrMoV15. Plate is cut by laser, plasma or oxy-fuel to drawing. From a single cut piece to larger lots — with no minimum charge, so you do not have to buy a full commercial length to get what you need.

Certificates and documentation

1.4116 can be supplied with a material certificate to EN 10204, depending on producer, dimension and the requirements specified for the delivery. On stainless, the analysis and the delivery condition are what the certificate shows. If a specific test or an ageing/hardening condition is to be documented, it must be specified before we order. EN 10204 3.1 can be supplied on a wide range of our materials.
