1.4436 stainless steel
1.4436 is the Mo austenite X3CrNiMo17-13-3. AISI calls it 316 — it is not 316L. The carbon is higher than in 1.4404.

What it is used for
Older 316 drawings and material where 1.4436 is stated in the specifications.
Limits
316 / 1.4401 when that is the EN line the drawing knows. 316L / 1.4404 for welding.
Delivery
We source 1.4436 from European mill partners as round bar, plate, flat bar, seamless tube, welded tube, cut to your dimensions and ship the certificate with the material. Typical condition: solution annealed. Standard: X3CrNiMo17-13-3. From a single cut piece to larger lots — with no minimum charge, so you do not have to buy a full commercial length to get what you need.
Certificates and documentation
1.4436 can be supplied with a material certificate to EN 10204, depending on producer, dimension and the requirements specified for the delivery. On stainless, the analysis and the delivery condition are what the certificate shows. If a specific test or an ageing/hardening condition is to be documented, it must be specified before we order. EN 10204 3.1 can be supplied on a wide range of our materials.
