What it is used for
Knives, valves and wear parts.
Limits
420C / 1.4034 when carbon needs to go further up. 1.2083 when it is mould tooling.
Delivery
We source 420 from European mill partners as round bar, plate, flat bar, seamless tube, welded tube, cut to your dimensions and ship the certificate with the material. Typical condition: annealed or hardened. Standard: X20Cr13. Plate is cut by laser, plasma or oxy-fuel to drawing. From a single cut piece to larger lots — with no minimum charge, so you do not have to buy a full commercial length to get what you need.
Certificates and documentation
420 can be supplied with a material certificate to EN 10204, depending on producer, dimension and the requirements specified for the delivery. On stainless, the analysis and the delivery condition are what the certificate shows. If a specific test or an ageing/hardening condition is to be documented, it must be specified before we order. EN 10204 3.1 can be supplied on a wide range of our materials.
