Alloy 286 / 1.4980 stainless steel
Alloy 286 / 1.4980 (A-286) is a precipitation-hardened Fe-Ni-Cr alloy for heat. Strength is set by ageing — it is not 310S and not 17-4PH.

What it is used for
Bolts, turbine-related parts and fasteners at elevated temperature.
Limits
17-4PH when the temperature is low and stainless PH is enough. 1.4980 when A-286 is what the drawing specifies.
Delivery
We source Alloy 286 from European mill partners as round bar, plate, flat bar, seamless tube, welded tube, cut to your dimensions and ship the certificate with the material. Typical condition: solution annealed. Standard: X6NiCrTiMoVB25-15-2. From a single cut piece to larger lots — with no minimum charge, so you do not have to buy a full commercial length to get what you need.
Certificates and documentation
Alloy 286 can be supplied with a material certificate to EN 10204, depending on producer, dimension and the requirements specified for the delivery. On stainless, the analysis and the delivery condition are what the certificate shows. If a specific test or an ageing/hardening condition is to be documented, it must be specified before we order. EN 10204 3.1 can be supplied on a wide range of our materials.
