C45R / 1.1201 non-alloy structural steel
C45R (1.1201) is C45 with raised sulphur. Better machinability than C45E. It is still carbon steel for small sections — not 42CrMo4.

What it is used for
Turned shafts and bolts where the R variant is specified on the drawing.
Limits
C45E when P/S must be tight. 42CrMo4 when the hardenability of C45 is not enough.
Delivery
We source C45R from European mill partners as round bar, flat bar, square bar, cut to your dimensions and ship the certificate with the material. Typical condition: +A, +N or +QT. From a single cut piece to larger lots — with no minimum charge, so you do not have to buy a full commercial length to get what you need.
Certificates and documentation
C45R can be supplied with a material certificate to EN 10204, depending on producer, dimension and the requirements specified for the delivery. The condition is what the certificate has to carry on C45R: as-rolled, +N and +QT are not the same product, and if a hardness or strength is to be documented in the delivered dimension, the requirement belongs on the enquiry. EN 10204 3.1 can be supplied on a wide range of our materials.
