Heat-resistant stainless steel
1.4762 stainless steel
1.4762 (AISI 446) is a ferritic 25 % Cr heat-resisting steel. Good oxidation resistance, poorer toughness than 310S.
- Delivery conditions
- solution annealed

What it is used for
Furnace tubes and dry, sulphur-bearing heat.
Limits
310S or 253MA when toughness and welding weigh more heavily.
Delivery
We source 1.4762 from European mill partners as round bar, plate, flat bar, seamless tube, welded tube, cut to your dimensions and ship the certificate with the material. Typical condition: solution annealed. Standard: X10CrAlSi25. From a single cut piece to larger lots — with no minimum charge, so you do not have to buy a full commercial length to get what you need.
Certificates and documentation
1.4762 can be supplied with a material certificate to EN 10204, depending on producer, dimension and the requirements specified for the delivery. On stainless, the analysis and the delivery condition are what the certificate shows. If a specific test or an ageing/hardening condition is to be documented, it must be specified before we order. EN 10204 3.1 can be supplied on a wide range of our materials.
