Austenitic stainless steel
305 / 1.4303 stainless steel
305 / 1.4303 is an austenitic stainless steel with higher nickel than 304. Less work hardening — better deep drawing.
- Delivery conditions
- solution annealed
- Also known as
- 1.4303, X4CrNi18-12
Designations
- W.Nr.

What it is used for
Cold-formed stainless parts where 304 becomes too hard in the press.
Limits
304/304L when the part is welded and not deep drawn.
Delivery
We source 305 from European mill partners as round bar, plate, flat bar, seamless tube, welded tube, cut to your dimensions and ship the certificate with the material. Typical condition: solution annealed. Standard: X4CrNi18-12. From a single cut piece to larger lots — with no minimum charge, so you do not have to buy a full commercial length to get what you need.
Certificates and documentation
305 can be supplied with a material certificate to EN 10204, depending on producer, dimension and the requirements specified for the delivery. On stainless, the analysis and the delivery condition are what the certificate shows. If a specific test or an ageing/hardening condition is to be documented, it must be specified before we order. EN 10204 3.1 can be supplied on a wide range of our materials.
